Why I Started Infinite Freedom Foundations: A First Letter

Why I Started Infinite Freedom Foundations: A First Letter

October 2026 · Soap Lake, Washington

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the first of what I hope will be many letters. This page has said for a while that a “series of letters from the founder” was coming. Here is the first one. I want to tell you, in my own words, why I started this Foundation, what I mean by Freenomics, what we are and are not, and what we are working on next.

Where this started

In 1980 I was twenty-four years old. Years earlier I had gone into a church looking for knowledge of God and the Universe. As I later wrote, “I came out homeless, poor, with no income, and only my reading, writing and math skills intact.”

So I went to the library. For a year and a half, while I looked for work in Kirkland, Washington, I read every book I could find about the history of banking, money, industry, and commerce. I worked as a collection agent, then at a credit bureau writing mortgage credit reports, and then as a mortgage originator. Along the way I learned a lesson I have never forgotten: “the value of any debt is only as high as the ability of the debtor to pay it back.”

I also never forgot who opened the door for me. “If it had not been for Andrew Carnegie I would never have been able to get a free education from the library.” A free library gave a broke young man a way out. That is the kind of door I want this Foundation to open for others.

What Freenomics means to me

Years ago, working with young people in South Seattle, I began teaching what I called “a new philosophy of economics I dubbed Freenomics.” At its heart is one idea: scarcity is often a belief we are taught, not a law of nature.

In my essay on scarcity I put it this way: “Freenomics is not a dismal science. It is the science of infinite abundance.” And: “All humans have an inalienable right to learn how to create their own infinite abundance.”

To me, Freenomics is about the freedom to create. “We produce because we like it, not because we must.” It is a way of looking at money, work, housing, and learning that starts with what people can build together rather than what they lack.

What the Foundation is, and what it is not

Infinite Freedom Foundations of Washington State (IFFWA) is a Washington nonprofit and an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 88-0578639, exempt since March 2022. Our mailing address is PO Box 184, Soap Lake, WA 98851, in Grant County.

Our mission, as I first wrote it, is “to organize, disseminate and promote the subject of Freenomics” and “to organize, build and manage the University of Freenomics in Soap Lake, Washington.”

Let me also be plain about what we are not. IFFWA is not a bank or lender. We do not take deposits, we are not making loans, we are not offering financing or accepting applications or funds for any lending program, and nothing on this site is an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy, any security.

Long ago I wrote that the Foundation was organized to work toward “an interest free global housing marketplace.” That is still a dream I hold. Our Zero Interest Mortgage (ZIM) idea is a planned program in the incubation stage only. No ZIM loans are being made, and none will be unless and until every legal and licensing requirement is met.

The initiatives we are incubating

On our official roll there are twenty-one initiatives. Each is an initiative at the concept or planning stage, incubated under IFFWA. None is an operating company, and none is an investment offering.

  1. ACTS (American Career & Talent Services) initiative
  2. ACS (Associated Content Services) initiative
  3. ABARC (American Bank Activities Reform Commission) initiative
  4. CBARC (Canadian BARC) initiative
  5. EUBARC (European BARC) initiative
  6. IBARC (International BARC) initiative
  7. SnapChange Digital Token initiative
  8. ZIMCO (Zero Interest Mortgage Corporation) initiative, planned and in incubation only
  9. Pen Capital initiative
  10. MMaaS (Magyar Minds as a Service) initiative
  11. University of Freenomics initiative, being developed
  12. Alex S. Gabor & Associates initiative
  13. Soap Lake Streets of Dreams initiative
  14. TCBaaS (Tesla CyberBeast as a Service) initiative
  15. Gabor’s Free Lunch Restaurants initiative
  16. IFFWA.org initiative
  17. Infinite Freedom Foundation of King County initiative
  18. InfiniteFreedomFoundations.org initiative
  19. Infinite Freedom Foundations of America initiative
  20. IFF of Canada initiative
  21. IFFI (Infinite Freedom Foundations of Earth International) initiative

As each one takes shape, I will write about it here, honestly and in plain language.

What’s next

The University of Freenomics is being developed. We are drafting its first course materials now, and I look forward to sharing them when they are ready. We are also rebuilding this website so it is clearer about who we are, and I will keep using these letters to explain our ideas in my own voice.

How to follow along

The best way to follow along is to come back to this page, share these letters with anyone who might enjoy them, and reach out through our Contact page or by mail at PO Box 184, Soap Lake, WA 98851. You can also find me on X at @RealAlexSGabor (my personal account; views there are my own).

Share and enjoy. Thank you for reading.

With gratitude, and in infinite freedom,

Alex S. Gabor Founder, Infinite Freedom Foundations of Washington State
